I am Kyle Putnam, a Licensed Massage Therapist and Large Animal Massage Therapist
IMPORTANT: Following three years of pandemic work, I am on an extended sabbatical from the human side of my practice and am not booking appointments. I do anticipate a return to practice but the timeline and location are TBD.
I specialize in giving the body good news! I believe the body wants to return to a state of health -- sometimes it just needs a little push in the right direction. Whether you are seeking massage therapy for general health or to address a painful complicated condition, my approach is the same: invite the body to be comfortable. My job every day is to deliver safe, targeted, orthopedic massage techniques that soothe the nervous system, give the body suggestions to down-regulate discomfort, and generally encourage my clients to be at ease. Even while recovering from an injury, orthopedic massage should be enjoyable! As my clients can attest, I approach working through a condition with playfulness and joy, which is usually followed by a deep restorative calm.
Head to toe, my clients come in with a myriad of bodywork adventures for us to sort through, but I have an particular affinity for the following topics:
Neck and Shoulders I love helping necks move well. The cultural challenge of our time is endless computer and phone use. (I do it, too!). Prolonged computer use can result in neck, upper back, and shoulder discomfort. Many of my clients work long hours at the computer and experience neck pain, stiffness, headaches, and nerve conditions in the arms and hands. I carefully work to restore comfort and optimal range of motion to these areas.
Equestrians As a life-long equestrian, I understand the chronic patterns and wear and tear from riding, horse care, and occasional collisions with the ground. Whether you are working on your position, tweaked a body part working around the barn, or are recovering from a fall, I enjoy helping riders be successful in the saddle.
Complicated Conditions When it comes to chronic pain, only a fool would say they have all the answers. I do not have all the answers. Bodies are complicated and occasionally frustrating. That said, if you have a complicated condition and need someone cheerful in your corner, I would love to be on your support team. We might not be able to “solve the thing”, but we can have fun trying.
Whether you are seeking out being more comfortable at the computer, downregulating pain, sleeping better at night, or just want a massage, consider this an invitation to massage therapy. I look forward to helping you work, live, and play in comfort!
