I offer a results-driven approach to bodywork built on an integrated background in medical massage, sports massage, and personal training, with an understanding of how the body works that began through years of martial arts training and has continued to evolve through formal education and clinical practice over the past 20+ years. This foundation allows me to see the body as a functional, interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated muscles. Instead of simply addressing symptoms, I focus on identifying the underlying causes of pain, dysfunction, and movement limitations so treatment is effective and long-lasting.
My work goes beyond the massage table. I believe in empowering clients through education and practical tools, teaching you how to understand and care for your own body. Sessions may include corrective stretches, mobility work, or basic strength exercises that can be done at home to reinforce progress, reduce the likelihood of re-injury, and improve overall movement quality.
My journey into health and human performance began in 1998 when I started karate during my homeschool years. My instructor was also a personal trainer, and his wife was a massage therapist. Their influence, along with years of disciplined training, planted the groundwork for how I approach movement, recovery, and long-term physical resilience today.
In 2009, I began my professional career as a personal trainer at the YMCA, where I also met my wife. Shortly afterward, I opened my own karate school, which further strengthened my understanding of biomechanics, injury prevention, and functional strength. In 2020, I formally pursued massage therapy by enrolling at River City School of Massage and completed the program in early 2021. Despite the challenges of that year, it became one of the most formative and professionally defining periods of my career.
I specialize in medical and sports massage, utilizing techniques such as deep tissue therapy, cupping, assisted stretching, scraping (IASTM), taping, and corrective movement strategies. My approach is clinical, intentional, and well suited for active individuals, athletes, and those dealing with chronic pain, injuries, or movement restrictions.
In addition to client care, I am a Massage Therapy Instructor and Continuing Education Provider. I offer training, mentorship, and continuing education courses for licensed massage therapists who want to deepen their clinical reasoning, movement understanding, and practical treatment skills.
While I am confident in the quality of care and education I provide, I remain committed to continual learning and professional growth. If you are looking for a therapist who treats the body as an integrated system and who will actively partner with you in your recovery, performance, and long-term health, I would be honored to work with you.
