My name is Wayne Sigler. After 32 years with Verizon, with the last eighteen years as a lineman, I decided it was time for a change. Working outside in the elements became less and less appealing with each passing year. I sought out and received a professional massage in Allentown about a year prior to entering the massage industry myself. I was so thoroughly impressed with the therapist’s knowledge and technique that that, coupled with the opportunity to leave Verizon being offered me, was just the catalyst I needed to start my new career as a massage therapist. I attended The Pennsylvania Institute of Massage Therapy, located in Quakertown, Pa, from January-August of 2008. This institute is a small, family run school, that pays a great deal of attention to the study of anatomy and physiology, as well as, massage techniques. They also provide instruction involving several more advanced types of massage and stretching techniques taken from nationally and internationally renowned teachers in the massage community. Early on in my education, I had the opportunity to attend a 3 day seminar on Orthopedic massage, taught by James Waslaski, one of the leading educators in the massage industry. It was here that I discovered the direction that I wanted to go in massage. I have taken a total of 80 hours of training in Orthopedic and sports massage from James and have met many wonderful massage therapists from all around the country. I have taken many hours of training in many different modalities of massage and bodywork. This gives me a variety of treatment methods to draw on to help my clients. I was also fortunate enough to have chosen a school that encouraged the use of this knowledge even during clinical hours, before I graduated. To be able to question, assess and treat a client with a debilitating condition and see the relief in their face when they are once again able to move freely without pain, is very rewarding. I have had the opportunity of working with several chiropractors in the Lehigh Valley. Dr Karl Mueller, Dr Stacey Jones, Dr Thomas Wachtman and Dr Jessica Kmiecik. This gave me the opportunity to work with patients who had a variety of conditions. All of the Chiropractors also shared their knowledge with me freely and have become good friends. One of the best and most enjoyable learning experiences was working with the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks professional indoor football team. The interaction with the athletes and coaching staff was an experience I will never forget. I also had the privilege of working with the athletic trainers of both Saint Lukes and Lehigh Valley Healh Network during my 6 years with the team. These are 2 of the best staffs in the business. I look forward to working with you for whatever reason you are seeking massage therapy.
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
