About Sharlene Hosek, LMT, MMP, CST
Sharlene Hosek was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. After graduating from Honoka'a High School, she moved to New York City to attend the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences, where her education included both Western physiology and Eastern approaches to bodywork.
Her education and career have taken her across the globe—from studying Thai Massage in Chiang Mai, Thailand, to interning with the Chinese Olympic Team in Beijing and training with master teachers in Hawaii, California, and New York.
Since beginning her massage career in 2000, Sharlene has worked in spas, hotels, and private practices, including The Waldorf Astoria in New York City, The Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii, and The Firebrand Hotel Spa in Montana. She opened her first private practice, Asian Pacific Massage, in 2005 in Kamuela, Hawaii, and now owns and operates Legendary Massage Therapy in Bowman, North Dakota.
Sharlene's practice is centered on therapeutic, results-focused bodywork for muscle tension, discomfort, restricted movement, and chronic problem areas. Her extensive training includes Tuina, Deep Tissue, Thai Massage, Shiatsu, CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, and other therapeutic techniques. Rather than following a single massage routine, she draws from more than 25 years of experience to customize each session to the individual client.
Sharlene is also an author and founder of LMTND Publications LLC, where she writes practical books for massage therapists based on the lessons, challenges, and experience gained throughout her career. Her massage therapy book series includes How to Start a Massage Therapy Career: From Graduation to Greatness and Ikigai for Massage Therapists, which explores finding greater purpose, fulfillment, and longevity in a career you already love.
Sharlene remains deeply grateful to the teachers and mentors who have shaped her work and continues to bring what she has learned throughout her career to both the clients she serves and the massage therapists she writes for.
