Hello!
I'm an integrative massage therapist, therapeutic bodyworker, and somatic movement educator/therapist (SMT/E). I completed my massage training at Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork (HI), where I learned a nervous-system and trauma-informed approach to somatic bodywork and massage.
I have many years of training in somatic movement education/therapy through my work with Dr. Martha Eddy, Mariko Tanabe, Carol Swann, Bob Lindberg, and many other powerful teachers in the domain of somatics education.
Alongside this experience, I bring an approach informed by interdisciplinary studies and close collaboration with educators in the worlds of dance/movement therapy, trauma pyschology, and neuroscience.
I specialize in conditions that involve neuropathy, chronic pain, and movement restrictions. For clients seeking deeper care for these sorts of issues, I offer somatic movement practices that provide a powerful complement to our work on the table. These include breathwork, myofascial self-release exercises, targeted stretching, embodied visualization, sound therapy, and/or yoga nidra.
When engaging these situations, I have found that gentle yet precise facilitated movement is an important tool for unwinding painful/restrictive neuromuscular patterns and facilitating the development of new ones.
