About Bluegrass Bodyworks
Bluegrass Bodyworks – Rehabilitative Massage Therapy was born from a desire to create something a little different: a place where skilled, evidence-informed bodywork and genuine human connection come together.
I’m Kaycee, the owner and lead therapist at Bluegrass Bodyworks. I bring nearly two decades of experience to my work, with a focus on orthopedic, sports, and myofascial techniques. Immediately after graduating massage school, I had the opportunity to train under a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Dallas, Texas. That experience profoundly shaped the way I approach the body—not simply as a collection of muscles, but as an interconnected system that deserves thoughtful, individualized care.
My work has also given me the privilege of working with the University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball and Volleyball teams, experiences that have continued to deepen my understanding of movement, performance, recovery, and injury prevention.
A Team Built Around You
As Bluegrass Bodyworks has grown, so has our team. Today, we are proud to have five massage therapists and an acupuncturist, each bringing their own education, experience, and perspective to the table.
Kim is a Vodder-trained Manual Lymphatic Drainage specialist with more than 20 years of experience. Her advanced knowledge of the lymphatic system allows her to provide highly specialized care for clients who need something beyond traditional massage.
Carrie is a gifted therapist who combines Swedish massage with skilled trigger point release. Her work is ideal for those looking for a thoughtful balance of relaxation and therapeutic treatment.
Josh specializes in deeper-pressure massage with a relaxing approach, making him a great fit for clients who want to unwind while still receiving meaningful therapeutic work.
Leaf works with a lighter to medium pressure and specializes in CranioSacral Release. Their gentle approach creates space for deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, and reconnecting with the body.
Dr. Lisa, our acupuncturist, provides medical acupuncture with electroacupuncture techniques designed to address discomfort while looking beyond symptoms toward contributing factors and root causes.
More Than Massage
Bluegrass Bodyworks was established in late 2020, shortly after the adoption of my twin daughters. Becoming a mother shifted my perspective on what it means to build a sustainable life—one that makes room for both meaningful work and the people we love.
That shift inspired me to create a practice that could grow beyond just one therapist and one treatment room. I wanted to build a team of exceptional bodyworkers who could help our community make self-care, recovery, movement, and balance a more accessible part of everyday life.
We believe wellness shouldn’t be something reserved for when your body reaches a breaking point.
Through community education, accessible wellness services, and a commitment to serving the people of Morehead and surrounding communities, we hope to make conversations about the body, nervous system, pain, recovery, and self-care feel less intimidating—and more approachable.
We also believe that healing is not purely physical. Our work is rooted in the idea that the body and mind are deeply connected. Through trauma-informed, compassionate bodywork, we strive to create opportunities for people to reconnect with their bodies in ways that feel safe, respectful, and empowering.
Our practice is a safe space for any and all humans. You do not have to fit a certain mold, have a certain goal, or know exactly what you need before walking through our doors. We will meet you where you are.
