With 20 years of bodywork experience, I am able to tailor the massage therapy session to fit your needs. I specialize in Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Perinatal Massage, and Maya Abdominal Therapy (as taught by Rosita Arvigo). An emphasis of working on areas of concern/dysfunction, while integrating relaxation/parasympathetic nervous system stimulation can be expected. My bodywork is slow-paced, deliberate, and typically focuses on problem areas. Maya Abdominal Therapy is offered separately, for either first time or returning clients, and it is incorporated into Prenatal Massage after 20 weeks. This traditional therapy is supportive for fertility, digestion, painful periods, endometriosis, PCOS, optimal organ position, post-surgery adhesions, general prostate health, and in pregnancy, it supports optimal uterine blood flow and fetal positioning. For postpartum women, it supports the normalization of the uterus and pelvic floor. It is a gentle external massage on the abdomen, combined with low back, sacral and hip massage, ligament stretching and pelvic fascial adjustments.
I graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, with a 1,000 hour certification, in 2004. Since then I have engaged in many hours of continuing education in Neuromuscular Therapy and Advanced Myofascial Release. I am also certified in Maya Abdominal Therapy, and am a first degree Reiki practitioner. I am currently an instructor at the Boulder Massage Therapy Institute, and have been teaching in various massage schools for the last 15 years.
