My goal as a bodyworker is to nurture the body's natural ability to balance, integrate, and heal. Touch is an essential nutrient we all need, and are often chronically lacking. Simply through touch the nervous system begins to relax and the body can start to let go.
I use a variety of functional manual techniques including myofascial release, deep tissue mobilization, Thai stretching, Active Release Technique (ART) and more to get into the stuck spaces and foster full body healing and connection. My style is a bit like when you take all the sodas at the soda fountain and mix them together to make a new, delicious concoction. Swampwater bodywork!
This is not a typical spa routine, it is a balance of science (anatomy, research, etc) and intuition (the unknown-able magic of two nervous systems connecting). It is not a one-size-fits-all, it is a process guided by you, your body and your needs. It's nice. I've been told it feels like the body is being listened to.
What can this type of bodywork help with?
Chronic pain and injuries
Migraines
TMJ
Surgeries and scars (old and new)
Overuse and strains
Stiffness and feeling limited in mobility
That problem when you sleep weird and then can't turn your head
Relaxation, rest and recovery (not a frivolous luxury, a basic need)
