About the Practitioner
Cindy Hance, Licensed Massage Therapist
For the past 16 years, I have worked as a licensed massage therapist in Atchison County, Missouri. In July 2025, I moved to Harrison, Arkansas, and I am excited to continue advancing my career here.
I began my career in 2009 with a primary focus on therapeutic massage, which eventually became my area of expertise. Concentrating on the therapeutic side of things allowed me to focus on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of my clients’ discomfort or dysfunction. Drawing on techniques I learned over the years, my clients and I made significant progress in improving body mechanics and enhancing overall comfort and well-being. Throughout the years I have had the privilege of working with clients of all ages and backgrounds, each contributing valuable insights to my practice.
If you are experiencing any of the following periodically or on a daily basis, lets look into it together!
- Shoulder, arm, back, knee, and neck pain
- Sciatica
- Reduced flexibility or range of motion
- Muscle spasms or cramping
- Post-surgery adhesions and swelling
- Headaches and migraines
- Jaw pain
- Plantar fasciitis
Therapeutic Goals
My goal is to work together to increase your awareness of how your body truly feels and functions so that we can address areas of tension, discomfort, or imbalance in a targeted way. Please keep in mind that the area of discomfort does not always indicate the source of the problem.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Please be advised that massage therapy is not a substitute for medical treatment provided by a physician. Statements made during or outside of massage sessions should not be interpreted as medical advice. It is also essential to recognize that you are solely responsible for your own health and well-being.
Client Comfort and Effective Therapy
Although the expression "no pain, no gain" is commonly used, exceeding a client’s comfort level during massage is generally counterproductive. Some discomfort may arise as we work to address specific issues, but your comfort remains the top priority. Adjustments will be made as needed to ensure a positive and effective experience.
Early Detection and Proactive Care
Many regular massage clients report not being aware of any aches or pains until receiving a massage. Massage enables early identification and intervention before minor issues become more serious. Monthly massage can keep you aware of your body's true condition.
Supporting Recovery When Performance Declines
Day to day pain acts as a warning sign, indicating underlying issues that require attention. Massage therapy can support you in your efforts toward healing by directly addressing these issues. Retraining the muscles to a state of relaxation is key to alleviating discomfort to support lasting recovery.
Persistent Issues
For individuals experiencing persistent issues, scheduling one massage session per week over a three-week period is advised as the benefits of massage are cumulative. After completing this initial series, we will evaluate your progress. Your comfort level and therapeutic outcomes will guide us in determining the best frequency for future sessions with the aim of sustaining or enhancing any improvements and pain relief.
Therapeutic Approach
Therapeutic massage sessions are customized to address individual needs and may incorporate various techniques such as Swedish massage for relaxation, trigger point therapy for targeting specific painful areas, Ortho-bionomy to help release excessive tension patterns, deep tissue massage to alleviate chronic pain, and myofascial release to relieve tension and improve range of motion. These techniques are applied as needed to promote muscle relaxation and recovery.
