How it all began… I have been massaging and caring for people with chronic injuries since I was 12 years old. I was raised in a household where people suffered from chronic injuries to their shoulders, wrists and back. Growing up I witnessed first hand how chronic bodily pain can severely alter someone’s life. After graduating from college with my bachelor’s degree I came home and worked at an acupuncture clinic while I looked for a career in the sports field. During that summer, I saw how my bosses’ touch enhanced their client’s lives with acupuncture and I wanted to do that as well. Though I did not feel that acupuncture was for me, I felt the pull towards massage therapy and I enrolled that fall. The massage program at Swedish Institute provided me with the tools I had been missing: the knowledge of the human body and the massage techniques. This equipped me with the ability to aid my loved ones with managing their pain. Learning about conditions in the classroom that I had prior knowledge of really fueled my passion for massage therapy. Not just a massage… Quickly out of school, I realized that so many people were living with pain. I believe that constant physical pain does not, and should not, have to be a normal part of someone’s life. Massage has so many benefits, such as diminishing stress, easing tension and others various health benefits. But I discovered that the true power of massage is what it gives back to you: your pain-free body and peace of mind. As a massage therapist, I can help you find relief from the physical pain that is impeding your life. I can help soothe tight muscles and give you the space to feel more focused, balanced, productive and aware. I can help you find an escape from the stress so you can take the time to reset and restore your body and mind. I studied at The Swedish Institute of Health Sciences in New York City in 2010 and opened Massage Artistry in 2012. I have advanced training in Medical Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Chair Massage and Trigger Point Therapy, which allows me to artfully craft safe and therapeutic massage sessions for every client.
Go on, be a good friend and share MassageBook with them. They'll love you for it.
