Resonate Massage Therapy specializes in relieving chronic pain in muscle, soft tissue, and joints. Carri Bullock, MTPT, LMT, has advanced training in Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy and Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) which she integrates with with manual therapy to help identify and treat the underlying cause of pain or muscle dysfunction.

This is NOT regular massage therapy! Each session is a unique combination of trigger point, active/ passive myofascial release, microcurrent (FSM), PEMF, and manual therapies customized for each client's specific issues and individual treatment goals. 

These are RESULTS-BASED therapies that help relieve pain, improve movement/ strength/ sleep, recover from injuries/surgeries faster, reduce stress, and get people out doing the activities they love. Added bonus: Everyone leaves extremely RELAXED.

FACT:  80% of people entering pain clinics have myofascial trigger points as the root cause of their pain. AND, 80% of pain is felt a distance away from the trigger point that's actually causing it. Trigger point therapy helps fix WHY it hurts, not just where.

You might be surprised to discover there's a trigger point solution to more than just pain. Trigger points can also cause numbness, tingling, weakness, restricted movement, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, tinnitis, watery eyes, bags under eyes, breathing difficulties, bunions, carpal tunnel syndrome, and many other symptoms. 

It's very common for clients to come in with a diagnosis for a condition that turns out to just be a trigger point in a particular muscle. Trigger points are easy to treat once you locate them and uncover the underlying perpetuating factors that put them there.

Any kind of overuse or direct trauma to a muscle can lead to the development of trigger points. Some other common perpetuating factors:  repetitive motions, posture, injury, using a muscle you don't normally use, stress/anxiety, and not getting restorative sleep.

What to expect during a trigger point session:

Trigger point therapy is a lot like trying to solve a mystery. Carri will ask a lot of questions about your symptoms and daily activities looking for clues to reveal the underlying cause of pain or dysfunction. She'll ask questions about your history to see if you can find more clues at the scene of the crime. (So it's very important for you to complete the intake form in as much detail as possible prior to your session.)

Next will be posture analysis, range of motion and other testing to pick out the prime suspects (muscles). You will be actively involved in the treatment of these muscles, which can include a variety of trigger point release and manual therapy techniques. Please wear or bring comfortable exercise clothes that allow you to move freely (tank top, sports bra, shorts without bulky waistband or pockets, etc).

Carri's favorite part of your session is teaching self-care techniques, putting the power of staying relaxed and pain-free in your hands! You will learn which muscle(s) have trigger points, how to find the muscle, where to find the trigger point(s), and how to treat them. You will also learn how to make modifications to help eliminate any factors that caused the trigger points to form in the first place.
