I'm Sarah, Tissue Technician at MPS, aka Licensed Massage Therapist and Owner, and I am here to help your body do what it's designed to do: heal.

Effective treatment is in the details. Your first visit will include a detailed intake, that may take up to 45 minutes, in addition to 15 minutes of transition time. Subsequent appointments will have a shorter intake time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: BEFORE YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT

LOCATION     Massage Pit Stop is located inside iWerx in downtown Gladstone, Missouri; a walk away from Summit Grill, Over Flow Coffee House, Stone Canyon Pizza, Xuyen Vietnamese Restaurant, Margarita's, and Gladstone's Linden Square.

APPOINTMENT LENGTH     Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start time of your massage for intake.  Your massage will start and end on time.

PARKING     Massage Pit Stop is in the basement of iWerx Gladstone.  

Parking in the Upper Lot: Enter the doors facing Stone Canyon Pizza.  These doors are unlocked M-F from 8-5.  

Parking in the Lower Lot:  You can also park in the lower parking lot, down the hill from the Elks Lodge.  The basement doors are always locked so please text or call 816-459-0410 to be picked up.

WINTER WEATHER      During winter, the parking lots may have patches of ice.  If you need to avoid ice, please park in the upper lot.  If you need help crossing the parking lot, please text or call 816-459-0410 when you arrive.

OFFICE POLICIES

1. Massage is a form of Health Care, but is not a replacement for medical treatment. Massage can aid in healing but cannot cure injuries. There can be some risks associated with Massage. For some health conditions Massage is not advisable or requires modifications.
2. Gratuity is accepted and appreciated, but not expected or required. Referrals and reviews are great ways to show appreciation!
3. Health History and Informed Consent are required to be on file for each individual and are reviewed in detail before the first massage and periodically.
4. Please Cancel appointments within 24 hours. Same day cancellations may incur a fee; No-Shows will be charged 100% of the missed appointment.  In case of an emergency or illness, contact the office as soon as possible.
5. Minor Clients 10 years and older can receive massage with parental consent and supervision.
6. Prenatal Massage is available for those in 2nd and 3rd trimester and is done side-lying.  Those in 1st trimester who are healthy may receive massage with a Dr.'s note. Please indicate if you are pregnant on your intake form.
7. Cancer and Cancer History may require modifications in pressure, positioning, and location of massage.  Risk is assessed on a case-by-case basis.  Those with high risk of lymphedema are encouraged to find a specialist.
8. Personal privacy is respected at all times. You may disrobe to your comfort level, and you are encouraged to remove accessories, if possible, before your massage. You may choose to stay clothed for your massage.  Sheets and a blanket will be used for warmth, comfort, and modesty.
9. Inappropriate Behavior will not be tolerated. This includes comments, jokes, movements and innuendos.  In the event of inappropriate behavior, the session and the therapeutic relationship will be terminated immediately.
10. Accepted Payments include credit cards, gift certificates and cash.  HSA or FSA payments may require a letter of medical necessity from a Medical Professional.  Credit card information will not be saved on file.  Prepayment may be required.

Massage is most effective when integrated into a broader picture of self-care, injury recovery, and pain management.  If you aren't happy with your results after 3 appointments, I will gladly extend a 50% refund so you can try a different Massage Therapist.
