Aloha!  Take a deep breath and relax into a therapeutic massage with Desiree. I am an Idaho native, who ventured to Hawaii and lived on the islands for 2 years.  I went to school at Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork, in Kauai, and graduated as a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2010.  I was mostly trained in Rolfing and Deep-Tissue techniques.  Rolfing, also known as Structural Integration, is a technique that brings your body into structural alignment by applying firm pressure for myofascial release. Over the years, I have created my own unique style of massage by integrating Swedish, Rolfing, and Sports massage modalities.  I also include cupping, hot stone, aromatherapy, and hot towels in the session. My teacher Lee Joseph was a Licensed Rolfer, Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist, and Guru. Lee learned from monks in Tibet and used his knowledge of Presence Center Awareness in his massage school curriculum. He taught me the benefits of Connective Bodywork and Awareness. Connective Bodywork is a therapeutic system based on a healthy approach to living.  It is a psychophysical and spiritually oriented-synthesis of specific massage therapy techniques and methods. Using these methods will cause a shift in consciousness that creates balance in the nervous system. This includes corrective and creative movement, awareness practices, and psychological communication skills. It can reduce stress, promote relaxation, reduce or eliminate pain, improve posture and structure, and promote healing of many dysfunctions and disharmonies in the body, heart, and mind. It is also based on the theory and practice of Presence Centered Awareness; techniques when practiced will promote a healthy, more balanced, and sacred loving life.    hide
