In today's busy world, self-care often takes a backseat. My journey into holistic healing, influenced by my Mexican-Indigenous-American heritage, began in my youth. My mama often treated injuries, nightmares, and anxiety with an intentional, light touch and songs of comfort that worked like spells. After a decade as a community organizer, I sought balance and coping mechanisms for daily stress. Bodywork became integral to my self-care routine, yet finding practitioners who embraced my identity and addressed my stress and trauma proved challenging.
