A little about me
I came to massage the way most people come to me: something hurt, nobody could tell me why, and I decided to find out. That was twenty years ago. I am still finding out and always learning.
I spent those years in clinical practice in Oregon, New Mexico and Washington, and in 2025 I moved across the country to Bayonne with my family. Every practice I've built has grown on referrals, one person telling another person, which is exactly how I like it. My whole world is human connection: the conversation on the table, the client who finally sleeps through the night, the nurse who comes in wrecked from a double shift and leaves able to turn her head again.

In 2016, after a decade of practice, I went back to school at COCC-OSU Cascades in Bend, Oregon and spent three years in the Exercise Science and Kinesiology program: anatomical kinesiology, exercise physiology, anatomy and physiology, exercise and sport science, microbiology. The plan was to go all the way through to medical school and into sports medicine. That training is in every session. It's why I can tell you not just where it hurts, but why.
I finished six credits short of the degree, and I would make the same choice again. My daughter has Down syndrome and a heart that needed another open-heart surgery, and in the months before it she was sick more often than she was well. She needed her mom more than I needed a diploma. I didn't end up with the white coat. I ended up with twenty years of hands-on practice, the science behind it, and a daughter who taught me, in my bones, what it is to fight for a body that isn't working the way it should. When you're on my table, you receive all of this knowledge and more.

Amber also has an extensive background working with insurance claims and uses therapeutic massage for those who have suffered injuries and require rehabilitation for soft tissue injuries. Her therapy has helped people relieve the pain of injuries, stress, car accidents, and body discomfort, as well as maintain good bodily and mental health.
If you are an active athlete, Amber will focus on the general improvement of muscle, tendon, and ligament function, providing you with benefits such as:
- Enhanced athletic performance
- Restored flexibility and range of motion
- Faster recovery from minor soft tissue injuries
Sports massage is designed for active athletes. It helps them prepare their bodies for training, gives their body a boost toward peak performance, and assists in recovery time after a big event. Don't fool yourself into thinking it is only for athletes. Sports massage is excellent for people with injuries, chronic pain or reduced range of motion as well. The same techniques Amber has used to help star athletes can help anyone relax, restore and invigorate again.
Amber takes pride in helping her clients reach their wellness goals. The most important support you can give yourself is to take action to keep your body tuned and healthy. If you want a partner to help you move toward your wellness goals, contact Amber Long.
