All Bodies Massage is excited to welcome Amanda Maier, LMT to our practice. Amanda joins All Bodies and brings unique training from a diverse background from working as an occupational therapist and certified lymphedema therapist. She completed certification as a lymphedema therapist with the Academy of Lymphatic Studied, ACOLS, 135 CEUs in 2010 and has worked specifically with patients who are s/p cancer procedures, history of DVTs, chronic cellulitis, and venous insufficiency. She has advanced training in IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization) and supports the science for releasing restricted fascia and reducing scar adhesions. IASTM is a technique that evolved from Gua Sha, a Chinese method, however, it is used with various angles combined with specific strokes using different applications to increase mobility. It is beneficial for a variety of conditions but not limited to back pain, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff tendinitis, ligament strains, carpal tunnel, tennis, and golfer's elbow.
