Welcome beautiful souls! It is not just by chance that you have landed here on my page. It is through the alchemical nature of the universe! I am grateful you are here! Settle in and I will share a little about myself and my path to the healing arts. My name is Janet, and I am cultivating the life of my dreams through personal daily alchemy. I fully receive and accept what the universe sends me, using challenges as opportunities to expand, and gaining wisdom from these valuable lived experiences. I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge; I am passionate about expanding my awareness and pairing new ideas and philosophies with lived experiences to enrich my life and to help guide me in my work with my clients. I would be honored to hold space for you and help support you on your journey of healing the mind, body, and spirit. Alchemy is a seemingly magical transformation and is available and accessible to all of us within our everyday lives; it just takes awareness, learning, and practice. Transformation and healing is within reach, but we must do the work. I am here to support, guide, and offer; I do not “fix”, as you are not broken. We all possess the innate ability to heal ourselves.

I would love to support you on all levels of your healing journey whether it be to relax and reset with a Swedish massage, experience pain relief with a deep tissue/neuromuscular massage, or dive deeper helping to balance and align your personal energy centers. I also offer sound therapy and movement through yoga. You, beautiful being of love and light, deserve a life filled with alchemy- magical transformation! Relaxation is underestimated and can be an important part of healing the mind, body, and spirit. Stress and trauma settle into our bodies and create or exacerbate chronic pain and cause much dis-ease within our body, its organs and systems. YOU ARE YOUR OWN HEALER
I have always been fascinated with “alternative” philosophies and healing modalities but what turned this into a personal passion and then into my life’s work was a combination of chronic pain conditions I was experiencing that were greatly reducing my quality of life. I searched and searched for relief in the Western medical system which either only temporarily helped or at times added new problems to the mix. I possessed a deep knowing that the life I wanted free of pain and suffering was possible, but I discovered that I was looking in the wrong places. It was during this time that I also began to realize that there were other aspects of my life that were not in alignment with my highest good; this began to create an enormous amount of cognitive dissonance, stress, and functional anxiety which created more pain and exacerbated what was already there. My physical body was sending me plenty of messages that, at the time unknowingly, were fueling my journey to heal myself. I discovered that regular massage was super beneficial, but I believed it was only one small piece of the puzzle. I began to explore the mind-body connection through reading and research and attending spiritual retreats. While attending a women’s spiritual retreat in Western Maryland I experienced Reiki and sound healing in the most magical and profound way- it was true alchemy for me! What I now know is that my body was communicating with me all along, quietly at first and then louder and louder. It was because I wasn’t receiving the message clearly and making needed changes that it began the endless screaming. I am forever grateful for the messages my body was sending me and that Reiki found me when I most needed it.
AWAKENING
Reiki has profoundly changed my life. This ancient Japanese energy practice not only awakened me to my innate healing abilities, but also re-awakened my intuition which helped guide me to the process of letting go, bit by bit, parts of my life that were no longer serving my highest and greatest good. My Body, Reiki, Soul Focused Healing, Sound Healing, and Yoga were guides and messengers that have led me to where I am today. I am thriving and feeling better in my fifties than I ever have- mind, body, and spirit. Living inauthentically and unaware can create physical messages; our body creates these messages louder and louder until we hear, listen, and follow. Reiki brings awareness to us to come back to ourselves and to follow our intuition. It has been a slow and steady practice for me, but well worth it. Know that you can change your life at any age!
BACKGROUND, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
My very early years were spent in North Carolina and Ohio and then my family moved to Texas. After living in a large suburb of Houston, Texas for most of my school years (THE BEST EVER!), my family moved to a small town in Alabama (culture shock!) in the middle of eighth grade. I graduated high school here then attended Auburn University - WAR EAGLE- for my Bachelor’s Degree and Appalachian State University (the Appalachian Mountains stole my heart!) for my Master’s. I studied Communication Disorders and was a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist for over 20 years. I worked with all age groups and in various settings including owning a private practice. I have lived in many different states growing up, as well as as an adult: North Carolina (twice), Ohio, Texas, Alabama (three times), California, Maryland, and Georgia. All of the experiences living in different places and working with all ages in various settings have provided a wealth of invaluable knowledge and experience that continues to help me in my life’s work. In my late forties, I decided to discontinue practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist and become a practicing massage therapist, energy worker, and yoga teacher.

ALCHEMY HEALING STUDIO
I opened Alchemy Healing Touch in 2020 after graduating from massage school and earning my license. Since 2020 I have expanded my offerings, as well as opened Alchemy Healing Studio in Pell City in 2024. When I first learned Reiki I did not know that I would be here now, but after graduating from massage school, I knew I wanted to have my own studio where I provide healing services for those seeking to live a healthier happier life. Alchemy Healing Studio is a sacred all-inclusive studio; a place where we can hold space for ourselves and each other as we walk on our life’s journey.
