Sarah Favara is the owner of Back In Motion Clinical Massage and is a Licensed massage therapist/medical manual therapist.

Sarah has pursued a career in the medical field since graduating high school in 2001. She has worked at Munson Medical Center as a nursing assistant and at the Northwest Michigan Ambulatory Surgical Center as a clinical care assistant and unit clerk. She is a 2005 graduate of Blue Heron Academy of Healing Arts & Sciences. She has studied medical massage therapy with the instruction of human biology principles, anatomical science, and the use of hands for soft tissue relaxation, recovery and rehabilitation. She is a member of the American Manual Medicine Association and is clinically trained as an allied health professional to work with patients of all ages from infants to elderly.

Following completion of her training, Sarah became an instructor at the Blue Heron Academy of Healing Arts & Sciences (2006-2010). She took great pride in teaching her students using hands-on techniques and enjoyed sharing her focus and belief in great patient care and service.

Sarah is able to provide patient-specific treatments to improve the overall condition of each client. Some of the benefits of massage therapy are: decreasing pain, maximizing comfort, normalizing tissues and decreasing inflammation, increasing range of motion, reducing muscle spasms, stress reduction, encouraging healing of tissue and muscle, and immune system stimulation. She is trained in human musculoskeletal anatomy & physiology, and uses this training to address chronic and acute patient conditions, provide short- and long-term treatment goals, and patient-specific strengthening and stretching exercises.
