Throughout his massage career, Russ has learned that no two sessions are alike. Everyone has their own set of life experiences and a unique relationship to their body, which deeply affects their personal massage style preferences and needs. This understanding has enabled Russ to utilize his training and extensive life experience to tailor each massage session to the needs of his clients. He loves blending styles and using the tools he knows to better fit the needs of his clients. From treatment-oriented bodywork including (but not limited to) trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, and acupressure, to more of the soothing, relaxing Swedish massage and even accessing a more energy-based multilayered Reiki, craniosacral therapy, and chakra balancing.
Russ graduated from the 500-hour program at Cumberland School for Holistic Therapies in Nashville, TN. Russ’s focus was in deep tissue and acupressure techniques. He also completed training in hot stone, prenatal, Thai massage, craniosacral, chair massage, he is a Registered Jin Shin Do® Acupressurist®, Certified Massage Cupping Practitioner, and in 2014 he attained his Mastership in the Usui method of Reiki energy healing. Russ is a professional member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
Russ’s gifts range far and wide; his presence, smile and welcoming demeanor will always make you feel at ease. In his spare time he loves to spend time with his family, creating music and art, learning new massage modalities, and deepening his knowledge of the techniques that he currently utilizes.

Massage Therapy
“Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® classes teach the use of gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques, to help release "armoring" or chronic tension, balance the "Qi" or energy, and improve vitality. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress- and trauma-related problems. A unique synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acupuncture and acupressure theory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory and principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy, it is recognized as a major form of Asian Bodywork Therapy (by AOBTA®, NCCAOM®, NCBTMB, and the U.S. Department of Education, among others). Originated by psychotherapist Iona Marsaa Teeguarden, Jin Shin Do® Acupressure promotes a pleasant trancelike state, in which one can relax and move out of the head and into the body, accessing feelings and inner wisdom. Generally a “local point” in a tense area is held together with related “distal points” which, though distant from the tense area, help it to release because of functional and energetic relationships. Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® is not intended for the diagnosis, treatment or cure of disease. It is a relaxation therapy, and a useful adjunct to licensed, qualified medical or psychological care. For any persistent pain or symptom, even a seemingly minor one, the reader is strongly encouraged to consult a medical doctor. When used in conjunction with standard medical treatment, the Jin Shin Do® Acupressure technique can assist the healing process by releasing tension, decreasing stress and encouraging a sense of increased well-being.
Massage Cupping is effective in relieving chronic pain at old injury sites and also addresses the soft tissue manifestations of conditions such as: Fibromyalgia, diabetes, pre- and post- operative edema and inflammation, and cellulite. This versatile technique mimics massage movements ranging from deep tissue and myofascial release to the light pumping movements of lymphatic drainage. Used regularly, Massage Cupping is a terrific approach to promoting wellness.
