A daily practitioner of yoga for almost a decade, he studied Ashtanga Yoga for five years under several amazingly influential women at Ashtanga Yoga Richmond who helped him discover his passion for mindfulness, health and wellness.  Outside of Massage he loves challenging himself physically with hand balance training, rock climbing, cycling and running.  Troy feels incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to work at Richmond Sports Massage with his teachers who laid the foundation of his love for massage.

REVIEWS for my massage services

The atmosphere was easy and relaxing. The conversations were interesting. The massage was a little more than I’m used to paying, but totally worth the treat for my health of body and mood.

I started seeing Troy when I was training for this year’s Richmond Marathon. With scoliosis, I have a lot of imbalances that have a cascading effect on the rest of my body and running mechanics. He knows this condition requires extra knowledge, attention, and TLC. Troy listens and works hard to get my tight muscles to release - even the stubborn piriformis and psoas. He is one of the reasons I was able to get to the marathon start line this year, and I am truly grateful that he is part of my army of caregivers. After a handful of visits, he knows my body and where I need him to focus most. I also appreciate his flexible schedule that occasionally allows an evening or Sunday appointment. I’d previously been preferential to female massage therapists, but I comfortable with Troy. Always professional. Thanks for the awesome massage this week!

Exactly what I needed. Kind, attentive, professional, and made space for me to work through everything. Really loved it and can't wait to get back.

Great massage, as always.

Troy was a joy to meet (rhymes but no pun intended lol). The experience was welcoming, helpful and therapeutic. When I get massages the goal is to leave feeling better than when I arrived and that was definitely achieved. I’ll be back soon! Thank you.

I can't say enough great things about Troy! Not only did he make my first time getting a deep tissue and sports massage as comfortable as possible he was always checking in to see how I was doing, he truly listened to my problems/areas of concern and discussed my athletic background with marathon and ultra running to cater specifically to proper healing/relief of pain. He also even took extra time to discuss further preventative treatments, answered all my questions regarding stretches and exercises to help maintain everything, and before we knew it we were talking like we've known each other for years! He truly is professional and personal all at the same time! I already made my next appointment!

I specifically needed a relaxing massage because my body and mind were so tense from dealing with a chronic medical issue. Troy took care of that but he also noticed some other area that were out of place and adjusted those. He’s wonderful. He’s also worked on me when I needed soecific therapeutic massage for injuries and he was equally skilled.
