Meet the Therapist
Brooke is an experienced therapist who prides herself in helping her clients reconnect with their bodies and minds but most importantly giving them the tools they will need to maintain their health. She has been practicing therapeutic massage since 2013 and has been exposed to a number of pathologies that hinder the body and became familiar with how to treat them.
Modalities
Brooke recently became the Medical Massage Practitioner Program and will be certified as a MMT (medical massage therapist) by October 1, 2019. Brooke has been trained in various types of massage, including but not limited to: Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, prenatal, sports, reflexology, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and much more! Brooke is also a certified in dynamic deep tissue and integrative reflexology.
History
Licensed since 2014.
Year one she practiced as sole massage therapist to a popular spa and became certified in integrative reflexology. For the next 3 years she spent my time working full time as lead massage therapist at a profitable chiropractors office with a large clientele. Brooke worked hand in hand with ground breaking therapies, extensively trained professionals, and amazing clients. She was also certified in Dynamic Deep Tissue during that time at the number one massage school in the U.S. for 2017! Since then, Brooke has expanded into the therapist she is today, where health and wellness is a way of life. Brooke strives to provide elite spa services to Wayne county and surrounding areas providing ONSITE corporate massage as an employee wellness program, accepting IN OFFICE appointments for Dr. Hunter Bailey at Democko Chiropractic in Mount Olive, NC, all while building her very own 800 square foot medical massage facility in Grantham, NC.
Often Brooke is asked what made her decide to become a massage therapist. Brooke first became a certified nursing assistant in 2009. She worked as a CNA providing in home health care services to the elderly and disabled. Brooke began watching her patients get prescribed stretches and physical activities in order to improve their quality of life. She began working with her patients doing everything the Physical Therapist had shown her. Once her patients improved and she got to see the immediate results of her and the patients hard work, she knew this was something she wanted to do the rest of her life. Brooke officially began her massage therapy career in 2013 at Johnston Community College. Shortly after Graduating and passing her state board exam in 2014, Brooke began working for a newly opening Day Spa. It was great experience as it showed her what it took to start a spa business from the ground up. A full year went by and Brooke decided that she wanted to advance her career by applying to a more medically based massage job. Therefore in early 2015 Brooke accepted a position at a well established spine clinic and has worked there until mid 2018. She then made the leap and broke ground on her very own medical massage facility while also opening a corporate traveling massage business. Brooke now accepts traveling corporate massage appointments and IN OFFICE appointment for Dr. Bailey at Democko Chiropractic Mount Olive while the Bodywork Barn is still under construction!
