My experience with massage therapy began as a teenager after I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I continued receiving massage following numerous motor vehicle accidents, injuries and diagnoses, including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. For decades, Deep Tissue massage enabled me to function-providing relief from pain. It wasn’t until massage school that I personally experienced and appreciated the benefits of a relaxing Swedish massage as well.

I view illness and dysfunction like a jigsaw puzzle. An overwhelming amount of pieces must fit together to complete a puzzle. Likewise, an abundance of circumstances create every condition, experience, and situation. When puzzle pieces are missing, we cannot see the whole picture. Therefore, we don’t know how to recreate the picture – or homeostasis within the body. This was my life.

Communication regarding all sources of emotion and sensation helps us recognize which areas in our bodies may be holding onto things that no longer serve us, in turn, causing pain. My goal is to address these areas from a whole health perspective in order to create moments of calm for the body to experience homeostasis and peace. This is my life now.

I offer Swedish massage as an ideal way to ease your mind and body into a relaxed state and become receptive to healing. Other circumstances call for a Deep Tissue massage and/or Trigger Point Therapy, to reach sources of chronic pain within the tissues in your body. Myofascial techniques gently aid in reaching below superficial tissues for work on scars and past injuries. I employ each modality as requested, or as the body calls for. I look forward to the opportunity to develop your personal remediation plan with you.
