My name is Abby Mayer and I am the owner and sole licensed massage therapist at Mosaic Massage. I approach massage therapy in a holistic manner - addressing the physical, mental, & emotional - in order to help my clients show up as their best selves. People are more than a collection of muscles, bones, and connective tissue. We have complex emotions that fluctuate greatly depending on the state of our personal relationships, our relationship with ourselves, and our life circumstances. Healthy regulation of the nervous system also plays an integral part in achieving overall wellness. Massage therapy nurtures and helps us to acknowledge the interdependence each of these facets of wellbeing has with one another, allowing us to show up fully and live a balanced life.

In my practice I offer a combination of Swedish, deep pressure, trigger point, and Thai massage techniques to address any physical ailments you may be experiencing. Through the use of active/passive stretching and joint mobilization we will work together to increase your range of motion. By incorporating dynamic and static pressure throughout the massage, circulation - and therefore nutrient delivery and waste removal - will be improved throughout your body.

I have created a safe, comfortable space to which you can retreat from the stresses of daily life. I offer soft lighting and music, calming aromatherapy, and several forms of heat therapy - a weighted hot pack, heated table, and hot towels - all of which are complimentary. To help activate the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for sound sleep and healthy digestion, I will offer a few guided breaths at the beginning and end of the session, and encourage you to deepen your breath throughout the massage. You may also choose to listen to a guided meditation instead of music during your session, if that is something you’re interested in.

This is your time. It is my goal for you to feel as comfortable and secure as possible. I will check in with you throughout our time together, however if at any time you would prefer something change, please don't hesitate to let me know. This can be in regard to amount of pressure, temperature of the room, type of technique I am using, or anything else. By providing direct feedback I will be able to tailor your session to your preferences and ensure that you get the most out of your massage!

What to Expect

Please be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time if you are a new client, to allow time to fill out a small amount of paperwork.
I will bring you into the massage room 5-10 minutes early to go over your intake form and discuss any physical ailments you have been experiencing, any areas you would like me to spend extra time or avoid, and any other questions or concerns you may have.
You will be given complete privacy to disrobe and get on the massage table. Most commonly people are either nude or wear only their underwear while on the massage table, however you are of course never required to undress beyond your level of comfort. You can rest assured that you will be draped professionally to preserve your modesty at all times.

Getting Here

The entrance to the office is in the rear of the building. Entering "Lot 6 - Hilltop Rd. Chestnut Hill, PA 19118" into a GPS will bring you to a parking lot in the rear of the building where parking is $1/hr. There is also free 2-hour street parking on Hilltop Rd, if you prefer. There are two small steps in front of the door which unfortunately make the location not handicapped accessible by wheelchair.
Masks are required upon entry. If you are able to provide proof of vaccination, a mask will be optional during your massage
