When I began my career in 2003, I always knew I would find a niche where I could assist clients in chronic pain, as that is what led me to massage school. Having a history of chronic pain myself, allows an honest understanding of how it changes one's life, seemingly overnight.

Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, myofascial pain syndrome, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and scoliosis are a few of the health conditions that I am most familiar. In 2017, I received advanced education to work with people with cancer or a history of cancer. Now, oncology massage is my passion. I will continue to study how cancer affects the body and how massage helps manage pain, improve sleep, and improve overall quality of life.

In the past couple years, I have been transitioning to an evidence-informed practice which includes medical massage therapy for specific health conditions. Monthly wellness massage therapy is great for every day stresses, aches and pains. If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with whiplash, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, headache or tmjd, medical massage can be more effective than monthly massage therapy. Medical massage is results oriented and based on a protocol of therapy for optimal soft tissue functioning.

Living with the novel coronavirus in our community has caused undue stress for everyone and with it an opportunity to learn and grow. Face masks are no longer required to receive massage therapy but remain a recommendation especially if you have not been vaccinated. Dawn will continue to wear one as a precaution.

Hand sanitizer is available for use. A germ guardian air purifier is in use daily. An additional waterproof sheet is now on the massage table preventing contamination of underlying fleece and heating unit as these items cannot be easily cleaned daily. Clean sheets for every client are always provided. In addition, Dawn is taking all precautions in her personal life and continues to wear a face mask in public places. She has been fully vaccinated as of 3/4/2021. Rest assured, your safety and health are her highest priority.
