Our bodies have an innate ability to self heal, but sometimes we need a little assistance. A Focused Touch blends CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release and soft tissue mobilization for a therapeutic and relaxing experience. CranioSacral Therapy (CST for short) addresses the bones of the skull and spine, as well as the Central Nervous System; including the brain, spinal cord, meninges and other supporting structures housed within. Like the muscles and bones of the body, the Central Nervous System, or CNS, can be inhibited by the compressive forces of poor posture, and impaired by tissue restriction as a result of injury or trauma. When the therapist gently "blends" their hands with a client's tissues, the body can settle down instead of remaining on high alert, allowing deep and lasting change to happen with gentle pressure. An efficient and unrestricted nervous system can optimize to support whole body health! CST is shown to be effective for many short term conditions, such as headaches and migraines, immune support, dizziness and vertigo, dental trauma and TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) pain or dysfunction, concussion and whiplash. It also has lasting effects for longer term issues, such as Autism, Alzheimer's and dementia, Fibromyalgia, PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress, and spinal cord injuries. Utilizing mindful touch and focused breath work, we can begin to re-integrate parts of your body that may have felt painful, disconnected, or forgotten. Discover the difference of working with an Upledger techniques certified CranioSacral therapist. Feel free to reach out with questions. I look forward to working with you!
