David Childs is the founder of Echoes Therapeutic Massage, where he focuses on therapeutic bodywork designed to relieve chronic tension, calm the nervous system, and help the body return to its natural state of balance.

Before becoming a licensed massage therapist, David spent more than two decades conducting U.S. military operations overseas. The majority of his nine-year military career was spent in the United States Air Force Special Operations Command, followed by many years working as a Special Operations Command contractor. Over the course of twenty-two years, his work led to forty-three deployments in demanding operational environments across the Earth.

Years spent living a subdued and intentionally inconspicuous life in those roles now stand in contrast to the path he walks today—stepping forward as the face of a growing practice dedicated to helping others restore balance and reconnect with their bodies.

Rather than a single defining moment, the catalyst for this transition was a threshold gradually being reached—a growing desire to be home permanently with his children and the increasing difficulty of spending extended periods of time away from them. When the government announced that the contract would not be renewed, it created the window of opportunity David needed to move forward with the path he had long been considering.

The initial seed for that path had been planted years earlier during one of his deployments. After a demanding workout in the gym, David found himself looking forward to returning home for a much-needed massage. When the time finally came, he discovered how difficult it was to secure an appointment. That experience planted the idea that he might one day have the ability and capacity to help meet the growing demand for skilled therapeutic bodywork within his own community.

David eventually pursued formal training in massage therapy, where he began to recognize the deeper energetic aspects present within therapeutic touch. What had first felt unexpected soon began to reveal itself as something both tangible and intuitive. This growing curiosity eventually led him to pursue additional specialized training in Reiki in Tijuana, Mexico, deepening his understanding of energy work and its relationship to therapeutic bodywork.

Today, David integrates these experiences into a grounded and thoughtful approach to care. Each session is tailored to the individual, whether the goal is relieving chronic muscular tension, supporting recovery, or helping the nervous system settle into a calmer and more balanced state.

The Echoes concept reflects the understanding that the body responds to the care it receives. It also speaks to a broader truth: every action and attitude we carry creates reverberations that extend into all life.

Through Echoes Therapeutic Massage, David’s goal is to provide a space where clients feel safe, supported, and able to reconnect with their body’s natural resonance.
