I’m Victoria, the owner of Voss Massage Therapy.

My path into massage therapy wasn’t something I had fully planned, but looking back, it feels like something I was always being pulled toward.

From a young age, I was naturally drawn to helping people feel better physically. Whether it was giving quick shoulder rubs or even trying to “massage” pets, it was something that came instinctively. I was also introduced early on to bodywork through chiropractic care, which opened my eyes to how taking care of your body can directly impact how you feel day to day.

At the same time, I noticed how many people as they got older dealt with constant pain, stiffness, and limited mobility. I knew I didn’t want that for myself, and more importantly, I wanted to understand how to help people avoid getting to that point.

Even in small ways, I found it rewarding to help someone feel better.

As I got older, I initially took a different path and attended Des Moines Area Community College with the intention of becoming a teacher. The further I got, the more I realized it wasn’t the right fit.

During that time, I experienced both sides of physical strain.

I was working full time in a factory, putting in long hours on my feet with repetitive movement and physical fatigue. At the same time, I was spending hours sitting, typing, and writing for school, feeling tension build in my hands, wrists, and upper body, especially when I was not getting quality sleep for my body to recover.

I have also been a runner for over 10 years, which has given me firsthand experience with how much stress the body takes on over time. I understand how important it is to keep muscles loose and moving properly, and how easily tightness can build in the legs, hips, glutes, and low back when that maintenance is not there.

That combination gave me a real understanding of how tension builds and why it does not just go away on its own.

I reached a point where I felt stuck and unsure of what direction to take next.

Then one simple conversation changed everything.

A coworker asked what I was going to school for, which led me to connect with someone in massage therapy. Looking back, it did not feel random. It felt like I was being guided back to something I had been drawn to all along.

Once I found this field, everything clicked.

I went on to complete my training at Body Wisdom Massage Therapy School, a program known for going beyond the minimum requirements and building a strong, hands on, clinical foundation.

After graduating, I gained experience working in a high volume setting at Massage Heights. That environment gave me valuable repetition and exposure to a wide range of clients and conditions, but it also showed me what was missing.

Sessions often felt rushed, with less time available for focused, intentional work. There was limited flexibility to truly address the root of what was causing someone’s pain.

That experience shaped how I practice today.

It reinforced the importance of slowing down, being intentional, and spending the time where it actually matters.

That is what led me to open Voss Massage Therapy.

Here, if you show up on time, you receive your full session time on the table without feeling rushed, and there is space to communicate before and after as needed.

What started as something small when I was younger turned into something much bigger. Something that truly feels like my calling.

I focus on results driven work that helps you move better, feel better, and stay ahead of pain instead of constantly chasing it.
