If you're new to Massage, here's a couple points:

1. Using a pressure scale of 0-10 (0 being the lightest pressure possible and 10 being the absolute deepest pressure possible:

A relaxation massage is approximately a 2-3/10.

A therapeutic massage is approximately a 5-6/10.

A deep tissue massage is approximately a 7-9/10.

2. Massage doesn't have to hurt. There is a big difference between pressure and pain and it is very much encouraged for the therapist to monitor pressure levels.

3. The appointment will start with the therapist asking what brought you in for a massage. From there, a treatment plan is agreed upon. The therapist will leave the room to give you time to get on the table. You can undress to the level that you're comfortable with. Comfort is the main component of what we do. The therapist will then come back in once you're ready and begin with the massage. When the massage is complete, you will be given some homecare suggestions to help with your goals.
