Jake is the proud father of two sons and two grandsons. He is a US Navy Veteran, has worked in the corporate world and has been an entrepreneur for most of his adult life. He has a background in psychology and marketing from UMass and Northeastern University. Since 2009 he has been a massage therapist with advanced certifications in neuromuscular, sports, oncology, gerontology and myofascial release massage to name a few. He is also a certified Mindfulness teacher, Reiki Master and practitioner of Qigong.

He volunteered as a mentor/teacher in the Boston Public Schools from 2004-2016 and in the Stoughton Public Schools from 2017-2018. Alan is President and Founder of the Flo Creed-Jacobson Initiative, whose main mission is to teach mindfulness to children in order to build Confidence, Resilience, Optimism and Self-Awareness. Alan’s objective is to use the Initiative as a vehicle to make a positive difference in the lives of children while honoring his wife Flo’s memory.

He was a hospice, literacy coach and mentor with Boys To Men for several years, and is a Master Mason with Garden City Lodge and Co-Lead Elder with the Mankind Project (mkpusa.org).

He enthusiastically endorses Frederick Douglass’ quote: “It is much easier to build strong children than to fix broken men.”
