LOKAHI [loh-kah-hee] is the concept of balance or harmony, central to the Native Hawaiian understanding of health. Health is holistic. "Lokahi Triangle" is when the physical, chemical, and mental parts of a person are all in harmony. Traditionally, this requires spending time with the patient in order to get to know the true origins of an illness/pain. Patients need to feel that they are being respected and cared for if they are willing partners in the patient-chiropractic physician relationship. This concept is summarized in the saying, "aloha aku, aloha mai" (give love, get love).

Here at 4U, we find the IMBALANCE in one of the three anchors of the lokahi triangle (physical, chemical, mental/emotional). Which imbalance is bringing you here?

Physical, refers to a subluxation/misalignment of the vertebrae/cranials or an extremity joint needing to be adjusted/realigned.
Chemical, references an imbalance in nutrients, toxins, food sensitivities, or hormones which need to be added, removed/detoxed, or stabilized/repaired.
Mental/emotional, refers to things our body holds onto consciously or subconsciously which have resulted in pain or fascia tension from stressors/traumas.

Dr Cari is a holistic practitioner and has been serving up healing kinesiology/meridian bodywork, nutritional muscle testing, and chiropractic/cranial adjustments for newborns, pregnant mommas, athletes, and geriatrics for almost ten years. Her dad was a machinist, and she is often seen setting up her chiropractic table at mechanic shops to keep the guys' spines aligned from all the positions they get in working on cars. She's had a heart for supporting VFW's and been doing probono chiropractic care for veterans through the nonprofit across three states, as her grandfather was in the United States Airforce. This year, she looks forward to doing chiro-missions in three countries in 2023.
