Hi! My name is Dano. I grew up in basically every corner of Florida and graduated high school in south Alabama. I went to college in Colorado to study chemistry, having fallen in love with the Rockies when I was pretty young. Even so, I somehow got mixed up in massage after a joking suggestion by one of my roommates. Weirdly, I have Game of Thrones and ADHD to thank for inspiring my career.

The first (and ultimately only) massage school I checked out was in Fort Collins - just like my college. It was simply called the "Healing Arts Institute," and it was there I received my second ever massage. My first massage was pretty disappointing, so I had kind of written off the whole industry. The massage I received at HIA was via their training clinic with a student practicing a technique called "Body Insight." I was sold immediately: I later learned this was a neuromuscular technique most closely resembling what is popularly known as "Active Release Therapy (ART)." The student used her techniques to release my chest muscles, and tonify my upper back muscles in less than an hour. The discomfort I was having between my shoulder blades was gone. I had to know how this works.

I spent the next couple years learning HIA's patented Body Insight techniques and experimenting with the principles I extracted from those learnings. I convinced the owner of the school to create several post-graduate courses that would teach one how a practitioner might tackle complex myofascial pain patterns; and critically think backwards through postural deviations often the cause of said pain. I fell absolutely in love with the art of blending myofascial bodywork, typical deep tissue massage, and Body Insight into a format that is simultaneously deeply relaxing and heavily results-oriented.

I taught classes at the school for a while; then went to work at a couple resorts in Teton County, Wyoming. For a rather unhappy reason that you're welcome to inquire about, I had to move to Massachusetts three years later. I've been active in Newburyport since 2018, predominantly working with the respective offices of chiropractic Drs. Jeaniene Donovan and Jennah Dieter. Now, as of Autumn 2025, I am working solo downtown at 55 Pleasant St.!
