Harmonic Health and Wellness started as a vision over a decade ago. In 2011, I experienced a severe knee injury that resulted in two surgeries. In my post-surgical consultation, after the first surgery, I remember asking if there was any physical therapy or treatments that I needed to pursue to best aid my recovery. The doctor responded by saying that I was young and healthy enough that I did not need any physical rehabilitation on my leg. Fast forward a year, my leg still hurts and is problematic, so I returned to the surgeon. He tells me I need another knee surgery and that Ill be walking within the day so I do not need physical or manual therapy. Because of this inconsiderate treatment plan, the gait compensation due to the weakness in the leg that I had surgery on, caused a severe herniated disc in my L4-L5 vertebrae. After committing to extensive rehabilitation for my back, and finally addressing the weakness in my leg, I was able to reestablish healthy function.

This experience with my injuries and unacceptable medical care inspired me to create something different. I yearned for a practitioner that could look at my musculoskeletal imbalances and create a plan of action that will result in long term healthy musculoskeletal function. When I spoke with my chiropractor, who is a dear friend, about who else I could see for quality body work, she had very few recommendations in our area. I then realized that this was a role that I wanted to fill in my community. Thus, Harmonic Health and Wellness was born.

Harmonic Health and Wellness is an integrative healthcare practice. Working with the intelligence within each person’s biological systems, we can work together to cocreate healthy function and habits that last long into the future. I strategically combine techniques and modalities from both Eastern and Western philosophies to create a holistic approach to physiological harmony that best serves the needs of my clients. Two of the modalities I specialize in are traditional Japanese Zen Shiatsu and therapeutic myofascial restructuring. I also incorporate a multitude of other techniques and approaches to best guide the body toward healthy function. By working with the different structural and energetic aspects of the body through hands-on techniques, the body can begin to re-establish healthy neuromuscular patterns.
