Hello! My name is Janine Spoto-Sawicki, I am a licensed massage therapist and owner o fHunterdon County Pain Relief Therapies. I specialize in the relief of acute and chronic pain.

At the age of 52, I started experiencing pain throughout my spine, and numbness and weakness in both legs. I began to have balance problems. My knees or ankles would unexpectedly give out. I was having difficulty walking up and down stairs and had even fallen many times down the stairs. Navigating through life became very difficult and scary. I was nervous to cross the street because I was afraid I might fall. I was no longer able to work. As time went on my life was becoming smaller and more limited. I went to many doctors, was diagnosed with severe spinal arthritis and was told I needed medications and epidural injections. I was also told that I possibly needed surgery. I was determined that this would not be my healing path. Fortunately, I was able to heal my body using noninvasive approaches including reflex integration techniques and CranioSacral Therapy, and return to all the activities and lifestyle I love!

This experience has provided me with the utmost empathy for anyone dealing with acute or chronic pain. I truly understand how it impacts your entire life.

My practice offers CranioSacral Therapy(CST) because I experienced firsthand the healing and improvements in my own body with this technique. CST uses gentle touch to various parts of the head and body while relaxing and remaining fully clothed on a padded table. In addition to CST , I provide QRI(Quantum Reflex Integration). QRI is a total body approach that uses low-level light therapy and sound to improve reflexes, decrease inflammation and pain, and promote healing and relaxation.

In addition to my bodywork, I have worked in physical rehabilitation for the past 25 years in outpatient, sub-acute rehab and long term care settings. Throughout this career as a therapist, I often felt frustrated because in those capacities I could not provide the necessary “hands-on” treatment for total body healing.

My mission is to help people decrease their pain level and improve their mobility. Whether you are suffering from an old or new injury, recovering from surgery, experiencing muscle or nerve pain, having balance problems or have any type of arthritis, I am here to help make your healing journey a little easier!

I live in Readington Township with my husband of 18 years. I enjoy spending time in my organic vegetable garden and cooking vegan, gluten-free meals. I am an animal lover and enjoy walks and hikes with my Golden Retriever dog Phoenix.
