The Long Story
Laura’s interest in bodywork began in 1991, when she was sent some information about Aromatherapy. She was quickly fascinated, and took a year long training to become an Aromatherapist. Then she realized that she needed a license in order to practice. Her pursuit of that led her into a passionate exploration and practice of bodywork that has lasted for twenty years. About 8 years ago, her then 6 year old daughter fell from a tree and suffered a closed head concussion. The doctors sent her home with no treatment. But she was waking each night with nightmares and during the day she was constantly bumping into things. Laura called a friend who was a CranioSacral therapist and she came over and gave her daughter a session in the middle of the afternoon. Her daughter fell asleep and slept peacefully through the rest of the day and into the next morning. When she awoke, all the symptoms were gone. Laura realized it was time to specialize in this amazing therapy, and quickly became trained to do so. CST addresses the body at it’s core, allowing it to release deeply held restrictions in a way that is often not possible with other forms of bodywork. The work continues to unfold as Laura deepens her ability to listen.
