Leny Luna-Cardona has been passionate about health since she finished her bachelor's degree in pharmacy and biochemistry 20 years ago. She studied exercise physiology at "Alas Peruanas" institute in her home country, Peru, and became a personal trainer shortly after. Through her years of experience and studies, she learned the fundamental role exercise plays in people's health.
After being injured in a car accident, Leny became interested in the Pilates Method using this technique in her rehabilitation process, which benefited her recovery. Therefore, she felt inspired to share her knowledge to help others to improve their quality of life by becoming a Pilates instructor at The Pilates Coach in 2005.
Despite facing language barriers once moving to New Jersey, Leny persevered by obtaining her physical therapy assistant (PTA) degree and license in 2014. She worked as a PTA for eight years and integrated Pilates techniques into her physical therapy practice. Later, she pursued to obtain her massage therapy license adopting better self-care techniques and establishing Cords of Love.
Leny's professional background is excellent for people seeking to understand the benefits of combining Pilates techniques and core strength with massage therapy. It's essential to avoid developing chronic conditions, which are prone to form when working long hours in front of a screen or improperly exercising at the gym. Leny wishes to use her knowledge to offer relief to those experiencing chronic conditions like low-back pain or other orthopedic conditions while personalizing the most appropriate treatment based on their specific needs.
