Oscar Barquero

Oscar has been interested in, and intrigued with, the human body since he was a child. Seeing a baby’s hand and noticing how small it was in comparison to the hand of a full grown adult was something he found remarkable to behold even as a small boy!

With a continued interest in the human body as a young man, he graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a Bachelors degree in Biology in 2002.

Still maintaining his curiosity about health and wellness, he began working at the Natural Way Health Food and Vitamin Store in Webster Groves, MO in 2008. He found this was a great place to learn about food and the nourishment of the human body. It was exciting to learn how healthy choices and a nutritious lifestyle could really benefit our bodies.

Continuing his journey, Oscar was introduced to The Healing Arts Center. With a lifelong passion to help people, and a need to be of service to other’s, Oscar graduated from the massage therapy program at The Healing Arts Center in October 2011, and has been a practicing massage therapist ever since . In 2016 he became a massage therapy instructor with The Healing Arts Center. He has been rewarded with continued learning and growth with each client and student he has worked with.

During the past few years Oscar has also dedicated himself to studying multiple disciplines outside of massage therapy, including Usui Reiki, Pranic Healing, and Transformational Breathwork.

In November of 2021, Oscar and his beautiful wife, Maddie welcomed their first child, Alba at home with their team of midwives. It was a truly amazing experience for Oscar…..now seeing the hand of his infant daughter lying in his own grown-up hand.

Reiki

-Reiki is an energy balancing modality that helps the body fall back into its natural state of alignment. Once the body is in balance, then it is easier for the body to do what the body naturally does, which is relax, heal, and thrive.

Reiki involves placing the hands with little to no pressure on different parts of the body. (It can also be done without touch)

Reiki is a modality that can be found in hospitals, cancer centers, hospice care, anxiety and PTSD treatment centers, yoga classes and in many massage therapy sessions.

Pranic Healing

-Working with the bodies own innate ability to heal itself, Pranic Healing is a scientifically proven technique to help the body heal itself.

Stress energies can accumulate in the bodies physical, mental, and emotional areas. This can cause the body to become depleted or congested, which can cause imbalances that lead stress and disease.

With Pranic Healing we cleanse and energize the energy body and energy centers of the affected areas of the body. This balances and harmonizes the systems of the body so they can function harmoniously and be vibrant.

Transformational Breathwork

Transformational Breathwork is a healing art which uses conscious breathing practices to help the body explore, release and integrate mental, emotional and physical energies. This helps our bodies open so that we can have a more full and open breath and life.
