Myofascial Release (MFR) is a hands-on, personalized form of physical therapy that focuses on uncovering and releasing tension held deep within the body’s connective tissue. Through a collaborative process between therapist and client, we identify areas of restriction that may be contributing to chronic pain, inflammation, poor posture, limited mobility, and even diminished athletic performance or overall wellness.

What Is Fascia?

Fascia is a resilient, web-like connective tissue that weaves throughout your entire body—from head to toe—without interruption. When trauma, poor posture, or inflammation occurs, fascia can become tight and restricted, placing undue pressure on muscles, nerves, blood vessels, bones, and internal organs. These restrictions often go undetected by conventional imaging tests, yet they may be the root cause of persistent pain and limited movement for many individuals.

This gentle, non-invasive method of MFR is designed to work with your body’s natural rhythms and healing potential. It includes three core techniques:

▸ Structural Release

Using sustained, gentle pressure without oils or force, the therapist engages the fascial system at a cellular level. This approach encourages the tissue to soften and release through principles like fluid resonance and piezoelectric response—unlocking deep patterns of tension.

▸ Unwinding

This intuitive movement technique allows your body to guide itself into positions of past trauma—known as “still points”—where restrictions were formed. Unwinding helps dissolve subconscious bracing patterns, expand range of motion, and restore natural movement and awareness.

▸ Rebounding

A rhythmic, wave-like technique that taps into the body’s fluid dynamics and energetic flow. Rebounding helps reset the nervous system, disrupt ingrained tension patterns, and enhance the overall effectiveness of Myofascial Release.
