Hello and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Amanda and I am the owner of Awakened Spirit Reiki and Massage. I have been wanting to help people for as long as I can remember. I realized over 30 years ago that is what I wanted to do for a living. I joined the Air Force after high school, and was trained to work in the operating room. I was quick to learn and understand how the body works and ways to fix it. After my time in the military, I took that knowledge of the inner workings of the human body and added it to the knowledge I acquired about the human mind and behavior through my college courses. I completed a degree in Psychology with a focus on Sociology in 2000. Years later I turned my focus towards the outside of the body. I competed in several bodybuilding competitions over a three year span that resulted in a massive amount of new information. Learning the muscles and the way they move the body was fascinating to me, combined with the understanding of the nutritional necessities to contour one's physique. It was a few years later that I became a Massage Therapist. I had finally found my calling! I was able to take all my experiences and apply them to one healing modality. The information I learned in the operating room allows me to visualize injuries and repairs and to work safely with people in all physical conditions. The benefits of massage on relaxation and mood tie in nicely into my training in Psychology. Knowing and understanding the sensations of overworked and injured muscles, as well as ways to stretch and soothe them, gives me an advantage in anticipating my clients needs.

In 2018 I was first introduced to Reiki, and that took my career in a new direction. I spent several years learning about energy work and the benefits of healing touch. My massage technique has transformed into something far more Spiritual than physical and mundane. This change in my career has also changed my life. After working for others in a spa setting, I found that it was time to dive deeper into my own development as a Therapist and as a Human. I now have the space to provide the compassionate, empathetic and personalized healing experience for all my clients in a safe and loving environment.
