Q: What can I expect from my first massage?

A: When you first arrive, we will go over your paperwork and any concerns or goals you have for the session, as well as any medical information that is needed. Together, we will create a plan for the massage that addresses all of the above. Remember, you are in control of your session! Your therapist will make sure that you are comfortable with and agree to the planned treatment, and you are always welcome to change your mind. Communication is always encouraged!

Q: How can I be prepared for my session?

A: Making sure you are hydrated before and after the session will help create longer lasting results, as well as prevent any possible light-headedness after receiving bodywork. In addition, paying attention and taking note of where you are feeling stiffness or pain in your body can help create a more effective session. Being aware of your emotions can also be beneficial, especially when preparing for an energy work session.

Q: What level of clothing is required?

A: Many clients fully disrobe, and some choose to only leave their undergarments on. However, your comfort is the number one priority! Reiki and Craniosacral Therapy are normally performed fully clothed, unless added into a massage therapy session. Massage can also be effectively performed fully clothed, and you will be met with a safe space, free of judgement, no matter what you choose to do.

Q: Do I have to talk during my massage?

A: Conversation is completely your choice- many clients relax more fully without, and others prefer to talk. Your therapist will check in throughout the session with any questions, and communication is always encouraged if you dislike anything about your session (technique, pressure, music, temperature, etc.) or have questions. Otherwise, you lead the conversation (or lack-thereof)!

Q: Should I expect to leave a tip?

A: Tipping is an option, and always appreciated. However, it is never expected, so please do not feel pressured to leave gratuity! We would always prefer you prioritize your self-care, and would never want this to be the reason someone is hesitant to schedule an appointment.
