My name is Heather and I've been working as a licensed Massage Therapist for 6 years. In 2014 I graduated from Southeastern Institute and immediately began working for a Chiropractic office in Clover, SC. Practicing medical-based massage gave me SO much valuable and priceless experience. In the 6 years I worked there I learned a great deal about treating a multitude of injuries in the neck and low-back, and everything in-between. With that unique experience I gained the ability to easily analyze a person's pain pattern and detect where the problem was originating from, as well as the best course of action on how to correct the issue and provide the patient with much needed relief. There's always a reason and a cause for pain, and I see it as a rewarding challenge to solve that puzzle and put the person's body and mind at ease.
Some therapists may be happy with hearing "You made me feel so relaxed", but for me to hear a client say "I finally was able to sleep through the night!" or "This is the first day I haven't had a migraine in so long" is so incredibly rewarding and reminds me not only why I love this career so much but also why I consider it a gift and privilege to be doing what I do.
