In my practice I offer a variety of bodywork options which include: Manual Lymph Drainage (Vodder technique), Massage for stress relief, Reiki, traditional Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, deep tissue work -- or most often, a combination of massage techniques suited to my client's needs. For those who prefer them, I also offer shorter, 30 minute sessions which I often provide as a clinical complement to chiropractic care.

As a Reiki Master Practitioner, I can combine massage with Reiki for a very effective therapeutic session. I am particularly interested in, and suited to, working with clients who are perhaps a bit more fragile than most having worked with critically ill patients providing palliative care, as well as in a nursing home setting with disabled patients.

I am keenly aware that therapeutic touch has the power to help us feel more at home in our bodies and more connected in our lives. And really, don't we all need more of that? :-) Massage therapy's ability to help relieve stress and pain is what drew me to this work, and it's the reason that I continue to enjoy it so much and find it so satisfying.

Certified Lymphedema Therapist

I completed a 135 hour certification program with Klose Training, LLC. The program was taught by CLT instructor Guenter Klose CLT- LANA and Linda Hodgkins MS/OT, CLT, LANA. This extraordinary and comprehensive training included instruction in the Vodder technique of Manual Lymph Drainage, bandaging for Lymphedema treatment, and the measuring and fitting of compression garments for Lymphedema management. Although my license as a massage therapist in the state of Connecticut does not allow me to perform bandaging and garment fitting, I am very well-trained to provide maintenance care Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) for Lymphedema patients. MLD is a therapeutic technique that cannot be compared to any other type of massage; it requires special training. The Vodder MLD technique is specific and very effective as a therapy for many conditions (see services page).

Reiki Master

I began with Reiki in 2000 and was initiated as a Master practitioner in 2005. I received level 1&2 attunements with Sheila Brantley and again levels 1,2 and Master level with Denise Kinch. I gratefully honor the Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage of Usui, Hyashi, Takata, Gray and Kinch. (see services page)
