I have been in Wilmington now for five years. In 2013, I became a certified yoga teacher through Open Studio NC studying with Sheryl Light and Tom Slattery. As my practice and teaching evolved, my interest in anatomy and how the body works grew. I made receiving massage therapy a regular thing after experiencing some tendinitis in my knee and to relieve back pain caused by my scoliosis. Massage truly helps me to feel like my best self physically. It is like a reset button for the body. Bodywork makes such a difference for me and I want to be able to offer that to others. So, in 2016 I began my training to become an LMBT at College of Wilmington. My experience includes working in the school spa and as the on-site massage therapist at Spine and Joint Institute of Wilmington offering additional care for the chiropractic patients. My goal is to offer each person on my table a space for relaxation and healing in their body. My experience as a yoga teacher and practitioner really helps me to offer grounding and a gentle energy to my clients.

Massage Therapist

Massage therapist on-site for chiropractic care. I massaged patients to assist with chiropractic adjustments. Massage relaxes the muscles in order for the adjustment the doctor gives to be smooth and less painful. It also helps to hold the adjustment for longer periods of time.

Massage Therapist

Working for I Am Day Spa, I offered deep tissue massage, hot stone, Swedish, and couples massage.

Yoga

Yoga Teacher

I was certified as a yoga teacher in 2014 and have been teaching private and group classes for three years now at Open Studio, Spring Pilates, Salty Dog Yoga, and Terra Sol Sanctuary.

Thoroughly enjoying. Noticeable elevation of health markers. Markedly reduced anxiety, tightness and pain areas. All this with lasting therapeutic side effects. How often, if ever, can one say this after a visit to their MD, no matter the experience of the treating physician?

Emily is incredibly nice, sincere and talented. The massage was relaxing and enjoyable. The shoulder, neck and scalp portions were my favorite, along with the heated towels :).
