I’ve been a massage therapist for as long as I can remember. Some of my
earliest memories are of me walking on my father’s back. Years later I
found massage again while attending Deep Muscle Therapy School in Pike
Creek, Delaware. After working on my own for several years, I needed to
leave practicing full-time massage to take care of my family. After
working several “jobs” I finally decided it was time to return to the
profession that I loved so much. I returned to finish my schooling at
the Academy of Massage & Bodywork in Bear, Delaware. After
graduating at the top of my class, I decided to go to work doing as much
massage as possible. My dream is to share what I’ve learned over the
years with everyone. I want to make massage more accessible to people.
It is my hope that my clients and future clients understand that massage
and bodywork is not just a luxury. Massage is no more a luxury than
getting an oil change in your car. I want people to understand that the
effects of stress and age can be balanced out with diet, exercise,
massage and bodywork. Massage should be part of an ongoing maintenance
program to improve your health and overall well-being.
I specialize in a personalized deep pressure that incorporates
stretching and trigger point work. If I had to classify myself I think
my massage would be more therapeutic than relaxation. I don’t like to
fall into one category. With many tools in my toolbox, my goal is to
improve your health and relax you.
My ideal client would have chronic issues. They would like to incorporate stretching and heat into the session.
I also believe in having a “back up” massage therapist. Many times
clients will cancel sessions because therapists are sick, on vacation or
otherwise unavailable. Here at A Balanced Life Massage we offer
suggestions on who to choose as an alternative therapist to maintain
your health until your normal therapist can see you. We work with each
other on a regular basis to try to achieve this. Ask your therapist or
front desk staff person who your “back up” is.
After nearly 20 years of massage, this office is the pinnacle of my
dreams and hard work, I want to share this with you and change the way
you think about massage. Let all of us here at A Balanced Life Massage
show you that “massage can tip the scales back in your favor”.
I am currently the President of the Drlaware Board of Massage and Bodywork. I am also on the Advisory Board for Harris School and Academy of Massage and Bodywork School.
My back up therapist choices are: Brian, and Lily2001 Concord Pike
