Dr. Karen Mooney

Some people say life is hard. It is not. Some people say it's easy. It is not. Some say it's lonely, tricky, or a test. It is not. Life is only a reflection, dear friend, of whatever you say. What say you? The Universe

I am a health psychologist with a specialty in integrative healthcare and a Medical Massage therapist. The focus of my practice is to facilitate wellbeing for each person, whether by coaching through a life event, guiding you through challenges to desired changes, offering skills to tap into personal strengths, helping you assess the best treatment plan, or releasing life’s stresses and traumas.

I integrated Medical Massage into my practice 20+ years ago. This modality is used in the clinics and hospitals throughout Western Europe. Originally taught in medical schools in Western Europe it is considered a respectable branch of medical therapy in those countries.  My primary focus is chronic pain.  I recently completed a research study with patients with Fibromyalgia which expanded the existing theories of the central nervous system and the alterations in the pain processing systems. This study also introduced an integrative intervention for treating the whole body-mind experience of Fibromyalgia. We have used this protocol for years in our practice with great results.

The great thing about change is that it can absolutely, positively, mean a better life. And from years of practice I have learned that healing can only take place when all three levels of a person are addressed – mind, body, spirit.
