Hello, I am Charity Sunrise, LBMT, LE  (NC#22068, NC#E-28102). I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and Licensed Aesthetician in North Carolina. I am a solo practitioner and owner of Sunrise Spa in Shallotte, NC.

In addition to massage and aesthetics, I also am trained in reflexology and am a Reiki Master.

My approach to my work is to listen closely to all the information presented to me through your health history and injury reports,  and investigate the body as I work through each section. I lean on my knowledge and intuition, to bring healing and balance. I think of the body holistically, mind, body and spirit.

The rule that has caused my business to thrive, is to follow the lead of my client when it comes to conversation during massage. I am happy to chat with my client, if that is what they wish, however I don't initiate or try to continue conversation. I am great at intuitively knowing when people need silent sessions and also giving space for them to unload emotionally and create balance mentally. Many pregnancy massage clients like to pick my brain a bit before birthing, due to my vast knowledge around pregnancy and childbirth.

Before I attended massage school, I served women and their families, as a birth doula. Attending birth and teaching childbirth classes kept me busy, while I was raising my little ones.  I enrolled and completed the Basic Home-birth Midwifery Course that was given by the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance, (MMA). During my enrollment, I sat on the MMA Board of Directors as the Student Representative.

My educational journey into childbirth education continued when I attended the MotherMassage Prenatal Massage Certification with Elaine Stillermen.

It was at this time that I shifted my path into going back to school to become a licensed massage therapist.  I realized, at that point, that massage was a passion of mine and focused my energies there.  I am still open to attending women in birth as part of a birth team.

On a personal front, I am the mother of two wonderful, adult daughters. They are my pride and joy. We also have two dogs (Leo and Harley David) and one kitty cat (Fat Mags). I enjoy riding horses, as well as tending to barn chores.

I reside in Shallotte, and my youngest daughter, resides with me. We both transplanted to the area in the summer of 2024. I was drawn here to escape the brutal New England weather and to enjoy the vast beauty of North Carolina and the beaches . Living here was a long time dream, and I couldn't be happier to be here.
