Advanced Corrective Bodywork - Superior Massagee

I have been a massage therapist since 1999 and have been interested in health and the human potential for all of my adult life. Having been brought up to believe that the life most worth living is a life helping others, I love that the passion of my life helps others lead richer, fuller lives. My role in my clients’ journeys of health is to assist their body’s natural healing process through awareness, education, and detailed bodywork. I graduated from the prestigious Brian Utting School of Massage in Seattle, WA; a school recognized nationally for its excellence in deep tissue and treatment massage instruction. After returning to Minnesota I taught all aspects of massage for 3 colleges in the Minneapolis area. It was a tremendous honor to work with so many wonderful people as they became fellow massage therapists. I appreciate all that I learned from my students. It was through teaching that I transferred from massage therapy into corrective bodywork. It became apparent to me that very few people were doing this much needed branch of bodywork. Throughout my life I have either played, participated in, or worked on athletes in just about every sport imaginable, including underwater hockey. This, along with my education (and continuing education), my own physical ailments, and my teaching experience has given me in a unique perspective. It’s allowed me to really see and understand how the human body operates in sports and life in general, and how the stresses that our lives and our behaviors begin to manifest pain in our bodies. I believe that my job is not just about making muscles function better and reducing or eliminating pain. It also involves putting power back in the hands of my clients by explaining what’s going on with their bodies. Learning and knowing that there are things that they can do to help alleviate the pain or increase their performance often makes a hopeless or frustrating situation much more manageable and less stressful. When not working I enjoy being a knowledge junkie, spending time outdoors, reading a good adventure novel, and, most of all, being and laughing with friends and family.
