Michelle believes that every body can benefit from more self care. As an active kid in the suburbs of Boston, Michelle grew up participating in a wide range of activities and athletics. After an ankle fracture derailed summer travel plans, Michelle became interested in sports medicine. She earned her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Northeastern University, and then completed a master's program in Human Physiology at Boston University, coordinating healthcare for the women's ice hockey team and researching functional and developmental movement patterns. Looking to expand her manual therapy skills, Michelle then attended the Cortiva Institute for Massage Therapy in Watertown, MA. She graduated and opened bodywork+ in 2014, and she continues to seek out new learning opportunities related to manual therapy, motor control, injury assessment, corrective exercise, strength training, and overall health and wellness.

REVIEWS for my Bodywork or Fitness services

I've been getting bodywork done for the past 5-6 years and Michelle's expertise and knowledge of the body and how it works/functions supersedes any experience I've had. Her assessment of your body allow her to tailor exercises to optimize your body for what it is you do; whether to boost comfortability or maximize performance. Michelle's various professional credentials mixed with her personable approach makes bodywork+ a must for anyone seeking to improve their physical function.

I like that she listens to my ache of the day, and is willing to work on something different than she might have planned.

Michelle was incredibly attentive and thorough. She conducted an assessment that identified some subtle asymmetries that needed attention, and the subsequent treatment session was extraordinarily helpful. As a competitive athlete and personal trainer, I ask a lot of my body, and it is very important that I take good, restorative care of it: I have no doubt that continuing sessions with Michelle will be incredibly healing and beneficial to me!

I like the fact that we have a plan on how to develop my fitness plan. Michelle listen to my concern. She was able to find the trouble spots and created a plan to fix them.

I had knee surgery in Dec. 2011. I walked out of my session yesterday with more flexibility than I've had in a very long time. And, I won my tennis match today. Very happy.
