I had my moments, growing up with little magic hands, giving my family rub downs here and there. My Grandma used to say I had a lot of mana. Fast forward to the high school, I took elective Lomi-Lomi classes. Before that I did not know what to do in life. While trying to find what I longed for, I remembered my Kumu saying to me many times over, "there is 87% of people that don't like their jobs, Kawika Kon. Be that 13%!" That got me thinking, what careers would be those 13%. I sat down and looked at my capabilities: long term and short terms. Main questions were how much could I grow and what is stopping me? I even Meditated upon it, realizing my only limitation is myself.

After much pondering, one day I went into Remington College in 2012 and took Massage Therapy course. There I explored and grew in mind/body/spirit, discovering compassion to help me heal myself and others, wisdom to understand myself and others, and ability to find common ground through bodywork. There I found a healer within. While in Remington I also studied energy work (Mainly Reiki) and realized that Grandma was right about me.
2014 I graduated from Remington College and received a Massage Therapist license. Though my learning journey is far from over I know that the more I invest in healing arts the more I invest in myself, and in term I will grow as a healer and be able to help others. To me this sounds like a great peaceful life. I don’t claim to perform some miraculous fits of healing but I do love de-stressing people, creating "Homeostasis" of mind, body and spirit through my work and seeing that smile back on my client’s face. One less unhappy person in the world.
