The mind's first step to self-awareness must be through the body.

Hi, I’m Charlie. A few years ago, after over 20 years in the IT industry, I decided it was time for a change.  I’ve spent most of my life in southwest Ohio; went to massage school there for almost two years part time while working full time. I received a certificate from the school and a massage license from Ohio (LMT).  It indicated competence in areas as gentle as prenatal and lymphatic drainage massage to deeper therapies, such as thermal or deep tissue modalities. I also received advanced certificates from the school in Cranial-Sacral Therapies, Muscle Energy Techniques,  and Sacro-Iliac treatments.

Just before I was ready to open an independent practice, my wife was promoted and transferred to Maryland.  We re-located here, and I immediately obtained my Maryland license.  I’ve been working here for one of the largest and fastest growing national chains since 2013.  I’ve recently decided its once again time to aim for a less corporate environment, and so have aligned myself with Tom Jordan and his Moonshadows Massage and Wellness.  We’ve worked well together before and I think highly of his massage skills and business acumen.

I firmly believe massage is a healing art; and simple relaxation and pain relief to be worthy goals in themselves, as well as a great start to an ongoing wellness program.  To this end I tend to steer away from the deliberately painful modalities, preferring to bring both muscular and mental tension release through relaxation and repetition.  I also find bodywork to be a deeply spiritual practice, but believe spiritual healing should be neither advertised nor paid for. So I do what I can for the body, and if the soul is helped as well it's a welcome bonus.

REVIEWS for my Bodywork services

He abided by my requests and worked on a specific area and let up on pressure when I indicated it was a bit too hard. He was looking out for the customer; not doing his own thing.

It was a good experience. I still have not found a massage therapist in the US compared to those in Jamaica and Punta Cana skill set.The experience there was phenomenal. But overall, it was well.

Was more of a rub down than a real massage. Did hit some trigger points but, for example, did not do my arms or hands at all during a 90 minute massage.

Lack of pressure. Lights were on for the first ten minutes of massage. No music to better ambiance.
