Joshua was born in California, grew up in Georgia, and has lived in Tucson since 2013. His youth was spent hanging out in the woods, playing baseball, skateboarding, and playing in metal bands. Looking for something to do that was healthy and beneficial for living in the modern world, he began practicing yoga. The postures clicked for him, and the practice made more sense than most anything else he had come across. Massage school seemed a natural complement to teaching yoga, and a good way to learn more about the body. As he progressed through school, bodywork became another deep passion, particularly as he began learning about injury rehabilitation, connective tissue therapies, and neuromuscular techniques.
Joshua specializes in myofascial connective-tissue therapy, deep-tissue massage, sports massage, cupping, scar-tissue rehabilitation, and neuromuscular therapy. On the table, you can expect a dynamic blend of massage and breathing techniques to address issues like nerve pain, neck pain, low-back pain, shoulder and hip mobility, and other soft-tissue issues. Joshua’s foundation in practicing and teaching Ashtanga Yoga has highly informed his approach to client care on and off the massage table. (He teaches three Mysore classes each week, Tuesday-Thursday 5:30pm-7:30pm, at Ashtanga Yoga Tucson—contact him directly for more information.)
From the beginning, Joshua’s work has been deliberate and intentional, focused on addressing the client’s needs. Treatments begin with some general health questions, a review of what is ailing the client’s body, and, possibly, a posture assessment. After each session, he takes the time to ask how things went and often sends clients home with homework. Joshua has experience working with clients from many walks of life, from young college students, elderly folks, athletes, gym rats, bike commuters, yoga people, and couch potatoes.
When not doing massage, Joshua spends his time hanging out with his wife, doing yoga and Hindu wrestling workouts, hiking in the desert, wood-working, and walking his 85 pound dog, Luka.

Massage School
I work in an Ashtanga Yoga Mysore room as an instructor and assistant. I help people do yoga by analyzing how their body is moving and suggest changes based on what I see. I also provide physical assists to help guide people's bodies into safe and mindful yoga practice. This helps me as a Massage Therapist by practicing holding space, listening to people's bodies, and facilitating other's need on daily basis.
